Vanessa Quinzel, MSN, APRN,
PMHNP-BC

Vanessa is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who earned her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of South Alabama. She has experience providing psychiatric care across the lifespan, working with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. Her clinical experience includes the evaluation and treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, ADHD, trauma-related disorders, and psychotic disorders, with particular interests in child and adolescent psychiatry and women’s mental health.

Growing up in a military family with a multiethnic background helped shape Vanessa’s appreciation for the diverse experiences, identities, and circumstances that influence mental health. She is committed to providing inclusive, affirming care and advocates for the LGBTQIA2S+ community and others who may experience barriers to accessing mental health services.

Vanessa takes a collaborative, holistic approach to psychiatric care. She believes treatment should extend beyond symptom management and incorporates medication management, supportive psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and shared decision-making to develop individualized treatment plans. Her goal is to help patients better understand their mental health, build on their strengths, and make meaningful progress toward improved well-being and quality of life.

Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys spending time with her family and pets, staying active with CrossFit and yoga, attending concerts, and embracing her love of sci-fi, anime, and conventions.
